STRANDED: A NOVEL
First they had to survive the island … then each other … then their rescuer.
All Marine Corps reservist Jake Chalmers wants is to give his dying wife a last, romantic cruise to the Philippines. Unable to save her in a mass murder aboard ship, he washes ashore an uninhabited jungle island, where he discovers three other survivors. Heartbroken that he failed to save his wife, he is determined not to fail these helpless castaways.
Federal prosecutor Eve Eriksson rescues a young girl and her elderly great-aunt from the same ship. They badly need Jake’s survival skills, but why is he so maddeningly careful? She needs to hurry home to nail a significant career trial. And, please, before Jake learns her secret that she’s responsible for his wife’s death.

FORGOTTEN: A NOVEL

It’s frightening to lose your memory. Even scarier is to forget what’s at stake.
Federal prosecutor Eve Eriksson disappears under mysterious circumstances and shows up a year later in a coma. What happened, and where has she been? She can’t remember, and her life is in jeopardy. Four people are hunting her down. Three claim to have been stranded on an island with her. The fourth is her old nemesis, Chicago drug lord Danny Romero, who still wants her dead.
Jake Chalmers is shocked to discover his fiancé is a federal prosecutor. Why did she hide this from him on the island, and who is going to such great lengths to prevent their reunion? If she doesn’t regain her memory, he’ll be thrown into prison for murder.

DUNCE HAT KING: When Life is Pass or Fail
A Memoir
Man was I excited! I was four years old, and I finally got to go to school, just like my four siblings! All the grades, kindergarten through eighth, were together in the same room, and we shared the same teacher.
My desk was right against Teacher’s. How cool was that? I turned around and waved at my siblings. This was a big day. My first day at school! Who else did I know? I wanted to look at everything, hear everything, be a part of everything. And I was going to learn lots of stuff! Or was I?
Before a week had gone by, Teacher marched me up front to a corner next to the blackboard. “Face the wall and don’t turn around,” she commanded. I shrank back as a pointed dunce hat landed on my head. Honestly, I was trying to learn my ABCs, but how could I sit still that long? If I even wiggled, Teacher’s eyes shot to me and she shook her head. My chest snuffed in a sharp breath. I hung my head when I heard my classmates giggle.

First of all, this book was awesome! I am an avid Christian fiction reader and am so excited I have some new authors to read! As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, this story was a much needed read. It reaffirms what I already believe but was beginning to doubt again. Thanks for including the subject in your storyline. May God give you what you need so you can write the next book in a hurry!!
I’m on the same page as you, Kimberly ~ hang in there and trust His good purposes!
Very good read. Looking forward to sequel. Thanks for good Christian adventure.
Thanks, Kay. It’s the kind of adventure you like to read about but never have to live out, yes?
I just loved your book. Was hoping the sequel was all ready in print. Couldn’t wait to finish reading then was disappointed that it was done.
I know what you mean, Mary Ann. I zip through a book I love and then too soon it’s over and I’m sad. If you sign up for our newsletter, you will be updated on when the sequel is coming out.
This book was wonderful and can hardly wait to read the sequel. It kept me spellbound and didn’t want it end. A very very good read.
Thank you, Dianne! I wish the sequel was ready to go, but we’re working on it!
Awesome story. I feel like I know Jake and the 3 gals. I didn’t want the story to end. I would be interested in the soldiers they found (maybe you could tell their story). How was it they became abandoned? What happened when their bodies were returned? I read your true accounts of the 2 Japanese soldiers found 28-30 years after the war – that’s incredible. Can’t wait for the map or the sequel!
Oh, Judi, that’s a great idea about the soldiers! Don’t know if we can work it into the sequel, but if not we’ll look for some other way. Thanks!
Great book. Could not put it down. Simply the best read of my vacation. So sorry when it ended. Will recommend it highly to friends.
Thanks, Janet. Word-of-mouth is powerful, and we appreciate the good word from you!
Awesome book. I’m wondering if you are related to Prichards who used to live in Dickinson, ND? I helped them with VBS in the summers with American Sunday School Union.
We don’t think so, Nancy, but you never know. They sound like someone we’d like to be related to!
Thanks for answering. I knew them in the early 70’s and then they retired to Minnesota.
Loved the book! Could not put it down. God bless.
Blessings on you too, Gerri!
Enjoyed the book. Good adventure. Just enough chickness to make it sweet and the Christian theme in just the right proportion. Interesting twist with the garden and the snake. Was that planned or a God thing?
“Chickness”–LOL! Yes, the garden/snake was planned ~ and hopefully was a God thing too! 🙂
You are indeed a gifted writer and know it’s from God. Stranded kept me coming back. However I was disappointed that there was not a resolution concerning Emelio. The book is such an excellent read that I recommended it before completing it. May God bless you to write another. Shalom!!!
Thank you for your kind words, Elaine. And be assured that Emilio will not escape. You’ll see him again in the sequel, for sure!
AMAZING!!! I loved every minute of this novel! The adventure, the sadness, the love and even the anger! (This would make a great movie. Cannot wait to read the sequel and find out what happens next!!
I love how much you enjoyed our book, Trish! If you haven’t already, sign up for our newsletter to keep updated on when the sequel comes out.
Are you kidding me…..not a great read…poor plot development and I am sorry man eating/attacking pythons!!!! Can Eve screw up one more time and do the opposite of what Jake…..the only one who had a cue about how to suvive…..tells her to do.
Ouch! Sorry, Frank.
I just finished reading Stranded;I LOVED it and couldn’t put it down!! As a retired English teacher and a Christian, I’m thrilled when I can read something of quality…and I can’t wait until the sequel!
An English teacher calling our book “quality”–a high compliment indeed! Thank you!
I just finished Stranded and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is hard to put down, though, which is not good when I need to sleep!! 😉 I don’t know if you remember me from my Indianapolis days, but I remember you and visiting in your home. I think it’s great that you can write together! Looking forward to the sequel.
Hi, Carol! I’m afraid I don’t remember, but come visit again and we can get reacquainted! So glad you enjoyed Stranded. 🙂
Just finished Stranded and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the sequel! I so appreciate reading a good story that does not include offensive language. Kathryn Y.
Thanks, Kathryn. Don and I wanted to write a good suspense story without offensive language and gratuitous sex and violence. So happy you appreciate it!
Stephanie, I did not realize you were from Indy. I live in Montana now, but grew up in Greenfield, will always consider Indiana home. Since Jake’s home is Indy, it would be awesome to see you put in a little more about Indy in your sequel.
Hello to Montana, Mary Allen! Don’s brother lives in Billings, and we have a Prichard sibling reunion there every other summer. Jake will return to Indy in the sequel, but not for long. However, I’ll have him wave to you before he leaves!
Come to Bigfork for a visit, it is gorgeous here, nearby is Glacier National Park.
I’ll recommend it to my bil (although it will be a few years before we head that way again).
Have just finished Stranded and loved, couldn’t put it down. Please let me know when the sequel is out. Thanks for a brilliant read x
Thanks, Gail! Sign up for our newsletter and it will let you know when the sequel is out.
Loved the book: very well written, exciting. Action packed, like Indiana Jones’ stories! Yet (and so important)–no profanity or district for God! More, more, please!
That should read “no disrespect” for God!
LOL, Joan–I make those kinds of goofs all the time!
So delighted that you loved Stranded and valued that there was no profanity or disrespect (oops–caught your correction) for God, Joan! “More” is in the process!
Wonderful, exciting and actually had my heart pounding. It has only been about three minutes since I finished the book and now I want more. Any idea when the next one will come out? It is so appealing to read a book that has the word of God in it. Thank you and God bless.
Sounds like you really got into the story, Deborah ~ we love that! If you sign up for our newsletter, you will be kept updated on when the sequel comes out. 😉

What a totally awesome book! I found it hard to put down, loved the survival skills taught. I hope you can do more books like this in the future and if you have other books, I would be very interested in them also. Not a dull moment, kept me reading and reading. Can’t find the map of the island, where do I look?
Would love to have a follow up book.
Hi, NL! The map is in a tab marked MAP at the top of this page. Click on it and the map will appear. I think you’ll find it “awesome” too!
Loved the book, it just ended too soon
I know, Joy, it’s sad when one comes to the last page. But the story goes on … when our sequel comes out! 🙂

I finally finished Stranded and it is an excellent work of courage, survival, and spiritual strength. Thank you for a wonderfully written, refreshing tale of love, hardship, and salvation.
I love your description of Stranded, Ed. Thank you!
I loved your book. I was right there with them.it was pictures and like a movie in my head. Than you for making it so real.
I had to learn how to write to put the reader smack dab into the scene, Jo. Huge hug for telling me I was successful!
Yes, you were successful. I loved the book untill the very end. I need to know the name of the next book! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you, Linda! I love the love! 🙂 🙂 🙂 The next book is still being written, but the tentative title is The Perfect Plan … Eve’s closing words to Stranded.
First of all, THANK YOU.
Wow! What a rich and rewarding reading experience. The well-developed characters are true-to-life and full of foibles as well as wonderfully heroic…each in their own way.
A unique, captivating story. Beautiful skillful writing.
Can hardly wait for the next one. Wow!
Oh, Cynthia, what sweet, encouraging words these are! Thank you so much!
I must mirror what Cynthia says above. Now, I am sitting on the edge of my reading seat waiting for the new book to come out. Thank you so much for sharing your skills. Stephen Adams
Thanks, Stephen. I hope we don’t keep you waiting too long … although it will be a while. 😦
I just finished the book and really enjoyed it. I glad it involved more than one stranded person. The spiritual teachings were very appropriate when presented. It’s good to read a Christian novel involving true adventure and mystery. I am looking forward to the sequel.
So glad you enjoyed the spiritual dimension as well as the adventure and mystery, Joe! Sequel is under construction.
Please let know bout sequel, loved book
Hi, Mary! So happy you loved the book! The best way to learn about when the sequel will be published is to sign up for our newsletter. 🙂
What a great story!! Full of suspense, adventure and even…yuck!!!…snakes! 😉
Well-written with believable situations/creative resolutions, I especially enjoyed the lack of pat Christian answers to some challenging life experiences characters had to go through.
I love Christian fiction and am thrilled to have found 2 new authors to add to my reading list! 😊
` Hi, Wendy! Glad to be added to your reading list–in spite of the snakes! 🙂 Big hug for liking the lack of pat answers!
Just completed this read, what a great story. I loved every bit of it. Looking forward, with excitement, to the sequel. Please hurry. lol
Love that you loved it, Susan! 🙂 Working on the sequel, but it’s s-l-o-w going. 😦 If you sign up for our newsletter, you will get the latest on its progress. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Is there an approximate date as to when the sequel will be released?
2016 is my best approximate guess.
I was drawn in immediately! It was a story that touched my heart and blessed my soul! I will definitely be excited to read the sequel! Thanks for such a great read!!!
Thank you, Edna, for sharing your response with us! We love being encouraged by readers!
A winner in all areas! Beautifully written with lots of adventure, bits of wisdom, romance and spiritual insights. The descriptions of the island were amazing. I’m looking forward to the next book – thanks for writing such an entertaining book!
Bless your heart, Liz! Readers like you make Don and me “winners”!
Loved your book – one of the very best I’ve read recently. I’ve noticed recently more authors are using God’s name in vain (Christian authors!) Thanks so much for not doing so!!
That is high praise, Lois ~ thank you!
This story was wonderful and loved the style of writing. I could hardly put it down and can hardly wait to read the sequel.
“Story” and “style of writing” describe how Don and I work in our separate skill sets and yet totally together! Big hug for appreciating both, Virginia!
AWESOME. Great Christian novel. It was a page turner from the first page to the last. Highly recommended.
Thanks, Tom! Don especially loves hearing from male readers!
Stephanie , I enjoyed your book so much. It’s one that you can’t put down . It was exciting , always wondering what would happen next. For your first book you both did a great work . God truly blessed you … Looking forward to your next one in 2016. Thanks again for my gift . Taking it to our church library this Sunday . God bless….
Glad you enjoyed it, Sandra! Thanks for adding it to your church library! *hug*
I just finished reading your book and had to write to say that I absolutely loved it. It held my attention and thoughts the whole time, even when I was doing other things. I laughed, cried, held my breath, even prayed while I read it. Thanks for writing a book that a Christian can read without having to skip over any pages. I hope your next one will be out soon!
Oh, I love your response, Ja! It’s exactly how we hope our readers will be affected! You are our dream come true, lol!
Hi. I am a Church of England Christian and started your book because it looked interesting. I couldn’t put it down! In fact have just made myself very late because I simply had to finish it before I left home!
Not only is it a great story, wonderfully told, I was simply delighted to discover as I read on, the strong Christian ethos and messages you have so cleverly combined in a great thriller. Congratulations!
I can’t wait for the sequel! When do you think it will be finished?
God bless.
So nice to hear from you, Justin! I’m elated that you found our book such a delight! The sequel will be coming out sometime in 2016. If you sign up for our newsletter, we can keep you posted through it.
it was a thrilling book. I was shaking as I read some of the scenes. Can’t wait for the sequel
“Shaking”? Love that! *big hug*
Unlike a lot of heart warming stories, this book shows the darker side of life and how important keeping your faith though bad times can be. Four different people with different problems relying on each other to keep alive. I could not put the book down and the housework did not get down. Good job that it was not a work day. I felt for Jack and wondered would I still put my trust in God if I was in the same place. Good on you both for writing such a powerful book on Love and Faith making sorrows and pain.
I appreciate your insight, Alison–“how important keeping your faith through bad times can be…. Would I still put my trust in God if I was in the same place?” You nailed one of the take-aways for readers! *big hug*
I would like to know when the sequel is published please.
Lauren, best guess right now is sometime in 2016. If you sign up for our newsletter, you will be kept updated. 🙂
