About the Authors

DON is a Viet Nam veteran who served in the Marine Corps Reserves for thirty-two years before retiring as a colonel. He was also a career architect, whose specialty in government work included the design of prisons, courthouses, and military facilities. These two career paths undergird many of the settings in his novels.

Don was born in rural southwest Iowa during World War 2. He was the youngest of five children until his sister was born ten years later. He attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he signed up for the Marines Corps Reserves, Oo-rah, and, more importantly, met and later married the love of his life. After completing a three-year tour of active duty with the Marine Corps, he earned a master’s degree in architecture at Iowa State University. Since then, he has lived in Indianapolis, Indiana.

STEPHANIE is an army brat, the fourth of five children, who moved with her family every two to four years. She was born in Massachusetts and immediately whisked off to Okinowa and a seventeen-year journey of living in several states plus Japan as a youngster and Italy as a teenager. At college she majored in English and minored in Philosophy. In addition to co-authoring suspense novels with Don, she wrote a grammar column and a humor column for Christian publications for several years. She and Don are the happy progenitors of three children and twelve grandchildren.

How do they successfully co-author and still stay happily married?

  • They have centered their lives on salvation in Jesus Christ.
  • The plots are Don’s creation; the writing is Stephanie’s. Separate skills united to one goal: a fantastic story!

  3. Oh my! A page turner if ever there was! I had to stop reading at times, a great author, to me is one that can take the story off the pages and make it a vision I can see! I take reading serious, this was well written. There were some words or phases I didn’t get, but I didn’t mind a bit! Waiting for the next chapter! And will read your other books
